Model: MAG3818g™ Style: Flame cutting tube Size: 3/8” x 18” (.9525 cm x 549 cm). Quantity: 50 per box Weight: 19 lbs (8.6 kg). Patent pending Eleven years in the making. Our new galfan™ cutting tubes are unique in that they are dipped in a hot bath of galvanized recipe prior to a top coat of aluminum enriched epoxy. The result? A cutting rod that cuts longer with less sparks than a traditional cutting rods. The tubes have been deployed in both industrial settings and in tactical situations by the Navy Seals and SWAT teams who preferred the low spark and high cut yield for breaching contingencies. The latest technology on the market |
Model: MAG3836g™ Style: Flame cutting tube Size: 3/8” x 36” (.9525 cm x 1097 cm). Quantity: 50 per box Weight: 38 lbs (17 kg). Patent pending If you are looking for piercing power the MAG3836™ is a favorite among repair personnel and scrappers alike. It will cut, gouge, wash, shape and more. It is useful for piercing long equipment pins. A 24” pin can be pierced and shrunk for removal in as little as 10 minutes (2 cutting tubes). Consider using a tube extender that comes in both 18" and 36" lengths to gain additional distance from the burn zone. This is particularly useful during challenging piercing situations. |
Magnum's particle stream provides 10,000 degrees of cutting power to melt through anything, including stainless steel, cast iron, manganese, hardfacing, and even rocks. No preheating means a small HAZ (heat affected zone) This translates into less problems with post metal fatique. If you have ever cut a plate, rewelded it and had the plate crack next to the welds, you have experienced heat fatique. This is why it is recommended that welds be stress relieved after plate cutting so as to relieve the internal pressures that have built up because of softening the surrounding metal with oxyacetylene gas. This is not a problem with our flame tubes which burn so hot and cut so fast there is actually less heat introduced into the material. Amazing but true..
Galfan™ tubes come with 3000 hour salt water corrosion resistance. Our new Galfan™ coating provides corrosion protection in addition to other benefits. For example, experience less sparks and longer cutting lengths. Recently, the Navy Seals and SWAT response teams found the lower spark threshold quite a benefit in their breaching assignments. Without question, this is the most advanced cutting tube currently on the market. The new coating provides a protective sheath that provides an additional conduit of oxygen to flow over the inner fuel recipe. This same tube, when fin wrapped with spiral adhesive is rapidly becoming the standard for underwater cutting assignments with commerial diving contactors.
Cutting and piercing stainless using new technology. Faster and far greater control. See video for more examples. Ten-thousand degrees can easily melt through stainless as the frame above shows. Merely press the tube against the steel and push. The flame does the rest. This process is quite handy for piercing through equipment pins. |
Our deluxe ignition is a power booster with convenient prongs to cause ignition. The booster allows for use as more than an ignition. There is a handy recharger, battery status gauge and optional jumper cables to start your car, truck or welder. The battery will allow over one hundred ignitions without requiring a recharge. Model: MAG3836™ Style: Flame cutting tube Size: 3/8” x 36” (.9525 cm x 1097 cm). Quantity: 50 per box Weight: 38 lbs (17 kg). If you are looking for piercing power the MAG3836™ is a favorite among repair personnel and scrappers alike. It will cut, gouge, wash, shape and more. It is useful for piercing long equipment pins. A 24” pin can be pierced and shrunk for removal in as little as 10 minutes (2 cutting tubes). Pierce and fracture a 36” diameter rock using thermal shock. Pierce decking plate on bridges to install railing. Make starter holes in plate for burning machines and save on tips. If you are looking for power, the MAG3836™ is insurmountable. |
Model: MAG1218™ Style: Flame cutting tube Size: 1/2” x 18” (1.269 cm x 549 cm). Quantity: 30 per box Weight: 38 lbs (17 kg). If you are looking for lots of incredible cutting action this is the tube for you. Lop off a twelve inch bucket hook in two minutes. Remove 1/2" welds in a single pass. Take off hardfacing in seconds like a garden hose washing away debris. Gouge really huge stress cracks on field equipment and reweld in place in minutes rather than hours or days. This is the largest diameter flame tube we make. Consider the increased surface flame burning at ten-thousand degrees to melt anything in its path. |
When piercing through thick materials like equipment pins, rocks or fire brick, a flame tube using an extender provides some distance from the operator to the burn zone. This distance keeps the blowback away from the operator and makes the pierce far more convenient. Horizontal pierces allow the magma to escape through the back side of the hole using gravity. A slow steady piece ensures a straight hole which is mandatory if piercing heavy equipment pins where collateral damage must be prevented. Tube extenders also allow for line of sight making it easier to keep the tube in the center of the hole.
An example of a .375" cutting tube using oxygen as the sole gas to easily cut through 2" of plate. See the video for more examples. It takes a mere 12 volt spark to ignite a flame tube. Once ignited, the flame tubes burn without additional spark so long as positive oxygen flow is present. Flame tubes can burn with as little pressure as 15 pounds of oxygen for sheet metal. When oxygen pressure is increased, the flame length is also increased. High oxygen pressure can burn a hole through solid rock. When rocks get stuck in crushers, this is the handy tool to pierce and fragment such boulders to get production going again. .
A two inch safety recess is built into the rear of the flame cutting tube so as to provide a buffer against burning into the torch head. Three crimps on the exterior of the flame cutting tube ensure the solid spoke fuel retains its radial design. Magnum has experimented over the years to ensure the critical crimps provide reliabile performance on land as well as in underwater cutting settings. The hottest oxyacetylene flame is limited to a temperature of 5,600 degrees. Although a well adjusted flame has been used for cutting for decades, anyone accustomed to using a gas flame realizes the temperature has limits. Not only are there preheating delays, the preheating also encourages the surrounding metal to become soft. Moreover, the flame cannot burn through laminates, since the flame will stop after the first layer, which is never the case with a flame tube. Finally, the low heat prevents burning through such hard metals as stainless, cast iron, manganese, T11 plate, hardfacing, copper, zinc, aluminum and more. Unlike a Magnum flame tube, there is no way to burn a hole through a rock or concrete. Acetylene is also a very dangerous, combustible gas. |
